HIKE-IN CAMPER CABINS
OFF THE TRAIL, OFF THE GRID
Boreal Backcountry cabins are HIKE-IN ONLY cabins just off the Superior Hiking Trail (SHT) near Tofte, MN. Located between Britton Peak Trailhead (3.1 mile hike) and Oberg Mtn Trailhead (4.5 mile hike) the cabins provide a comfortable alternative to tenting while hiking the SHT.
Whether spending a zero day on day 10 of your thru hike or looking for a place to hangout in a beautiful mature maple forest while exploring the SHT for a couple of days, Boreal Backcountry Cabins offer both the experienced and novice hiker a just off the trail, off-grid lodging experience. The two cabins, Black Spruce and Sugar Maple, have heat, solar lights, comfortable beds, screen porch, plus other amenities.
There is no designated on-site parking. Guests can park at approved overnight parking spots along the 310 mile long Superior Hiking Trail. The Superior Hiking Trail Association is an excellent resource for parking info, maps and other questions you may have about hiking the SHT.
